The first intention of EXTENDED was the extension of a photograph. It results in a mergence of a photograph printed on a hand made paper, drawings, handwriting, objects and sometimes even music scores. Visuality without borders. It all started with a tree in the winter forest that particularly caught my eye during one of my walks through the woods surrounding the golf course in Himberg. I kept going back there over an entire year and photographed the tree in every season. What especially fascinated me were the vines which elegantly wound themselves down to the ground from a branch, creating an image of endless bonds. I had been occupying myself for a few years before that almost exclusively with photography, but from this jungle, the idea and the compulsion arose to continue to draw directly on the photo, to allow a fusion of photography, drawing, text, and found objects to develop into one work. The theme is the forest as the source of inspiration and energy for all creativity. The texts circle philosophically around the beauty of and longing for nature and the feeling of happiness regarding movement in nature, as well as love, death, encounters, joy, music, roots, wishes, hopes, time, and much more."
