Shifting Roots was photographed in the forest located along a small river close to Vienna. In these times of climate change, water is considered to be the blood of earth. The river becomes a metaphor for life. Shifting Roots speaks about origins, the need to follow one’s road, endings and beginnings, permanent mutation, the succession of generations and the course of life. The forest becomes a source of energy and inspiration for all creativity.
The book is the third part of a trilogy with Roots & Bonds (2015 - photo–eye Best of the year by Gerry Badger) and Goosewalk (2019 – German Photobook Award silver medal 19/20)
